BMS battery protection board, in other word, the lithium battery protection board is mainly an integrated circuit board that protects rechargeable (generally lithium batteries). The battery management system (BMS) is mainly to improve the utilization rate of the battery, prevent the battery from overcharging and overdischarging, prolong the service life of the battery, and monitor the state of the battery. As the battery management system develops, other functions will be added.
The main function of the power lithium battery protection board is to provide a lithium battery management system for energy supply for motors, energy storage equipment and other systems. The lithium battery protection board offers the charge and discharge protection for the series lithium battery pack.
Function: effectively improve the charging effect in the series charging mode, and at the same time detect the overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent, short circuit, protects and prolongs battery life from over-temperature conditions.
BMS battery management system functions:
The monitoring function is the most basic function of the battery management system, which provides reliable data for the management function. The monitoring content includes battery terminal voltage, current, temperature and other parameters.
Protection functions include overcharge protection, overdischarge protection, short circuit protection, reverse polarity protection, overload protection, temperature protection, etc.
The metering function is to dynamically report the SOC state of the battery during use. In theory, there is a certain correspondence between the voltage and capacity of the battery. By comparing the SOC data during use with the theoretical SOC data, it is judged that the battery lifespan.
Connect the status of the battery with the external connection through the interface and communication protocol to realize the function of self-control or remote control.
The battery management system BMS mainly covers the following functions:
1) Battery working status monitoring: mainly refers to the real-time monitoring or calculation of a series of battery-related parameters such as battery voltage, temperature, working current, and battery power during the working process of the battery, and judging the current battery status based on these parameters. To carry out corresponding operations to prevent overcharging or over-discharging of the battery.
2) Battery charge and discharge management: In the process of charging or discharging the battery, manage the charging or discharging of the battery according to the relevant parameters such as the environmental state and battery state, and set the optimal charging or discharging curve of the battery (such as charging current, charging upper limit voltage value, discharge lower limit voltage value, etc.
3)Balance among single cells: to charge the cells in a balanced manner, so that each battery in the battery pack can reach a balanced and consistent state. The equalizer is the core component of the battery management system.
