Ternary lithium battery(NCM/NCA Battery)
Ternary lithium battery refers to a lithium battery in which the positive electrode material uses lithium nickel cobalt manganese oxide (Li(NiCoMn)O2) ternary positive electrode material. The ternary composite positive electrode material is made of nickel salt, cobalt salt, and manganese salt. The ratio of nickel-cobalt-manganese can be adjusted according to actual needs.
Batteries made of ternary materials are safer than lithium cobalt oxide batteries, but the voltage is too low. When used in mobile phones (the cut-off voltage of mobile phones is generally around 3.0V), there will be a feeling of insufficient capacity.
The main advantages: high energy density, small volume with the same capacity.
Disadvantages: poor thermal stability, internal short circuit is prone to flames, capacity decays quickly, and short cycle life.
Lithium iron phosphate battery(LiFePO4 Battery)
Lithium iron phosphate battery refers to a lithium ion battery that uses lithium iron phosphate as the positive electrode material.
The main advantages: high energy density, excellent charge and discharge performance, no memory effect, long cycle life, good high temperature resistance, good safety performance, low self-discharge rate, and environmentally friendly.
The disadvantages: slightly reduced low temperature performance , higher manufacturing cost.
Application: New energy vehicles, two-wheel electric vehicles, electric heavy trucks, electric ships, energy storage, UPS, backup power supply and communication energy storage and 5G base stations, etc.
